Riverside Doctors - What You Should Expect

A doctor who cannot take a good history and a patient who cannot give one are in danger of giving and receiving bad treatment (unknown source).
History taking is among the vital functions that doctors perform. Components of the patient’s history are important in making the correct diagnosis and recommending the right treatment/s. This is a long and tedious process of getting to know the patient such that areas relevant to his or her current disease may be discovered. Because some areas may involve sensitive information, many patients choose to leave them out, not realizing that they may just be what the doctors need to recommend the proper treatment.

The doctors’ work is never done. Martin H. Fischer states. “A doctor must work eighteen hours a day and seven days a week. If you cannot console yourself to this, get out of the profession.” When the day ends, the health needs of people still continue; therefore, doctors must see that these are attended to. Literally, such needs are almost always a matter of life and death. Prompt response ensures that the patient’s health condition remains stable. If you do not have the heart for service, then being a doctor is not the work for you. One of the needed traits to be in this profession is selflessness.
